The gf and I are spending a quiet Christmas together, getting some needed rest, enjoying each other's company, and making and eating some good food. We attempted to make dumplings yesterday all from scratch for the first time. It was delicious, but the technique needed to be tweaked; some of the dumplings looked more like
empanadas, :-| others were oddly shaped, still others were almost falling apart. The gf attempted another batch today, which turned out just as yummy but so much better looking. :-)

| Perfect looking & perfectly yummy. |
Right before dusk, we headed out for a walk around the neighborhood and got to see some orange and red skies as dusk fell. We climbed the hill up Sunset Park and got to see cool views of the lower half of Manhattan from the World Trade Center downtown to the Empire State Building in Midtown. It was freezing cold, and my fingers were going numb--good thing we were bundled up and brought our gloves--but overall, it was a nice walk. We came back home for more food and rest before we have to hit the sack and finish off the busy week.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
