Enjoying your space

Do you notice & enjoy the space that you're in?
These days, I find myself noticing my surroundings more and more. It's a good thing and a clear sign I'm living in the moment and that my mind is engaged in what's at hand instead of dwelling in the past or fussing about the future. There's something freeing in focusing on what's around me that's a nice break from the constant analysis and evaluations that go on in my head.

But that's not all. Lately, I've also realized that being in the moment is just the first step; you can and should also enjoy the space that you're in. Taking pleasure in where you are and what's there is the next progression to being in the zone. It makes the moment and the place enjoyable and is sure to entice us to experience it more. It makes sense, doesn't it? No reason to be anywhere if it's not fun. Besides, we tend to remember and are likely to return to a place or in this case, a state of mind, if it gives us pleasure.

Be aware of where you are, and take pleasure in the
space that you're in, wherever that may be.
Being present is a decision that we have to make moment by moment. But to make that decision, it has to enter our minds. Enjoying our space increases that probability because if we're having a good time when we're there, we'll want to experience it again. So do your best to be in the moment, then enjoy the space you're in however beautiful & exciting or ugly & mundane.
