Curry-Ya

This place in the East Village was so tiny with barely room to walk through. In fact, my backpack got stuck on our way to our seats at the farthest end of the counter--the only kind of seating available. The hooks underneath the counter really came in handy as there wasn't a lot of floor space for your stuff. On the other side, the cooks barely had room to move, either, and darted about efficiently as they prepared & served orders. They took care of the guests well, and you quickly notice the tight space is actually part of the charm--more cozy than cramped. In fact, watching your curry sauce boil in a small iron pot on top of a blue flame just a few feet before you was kind of cool--a bit hypnotizing. The curry was tasty. We cleaned our plates and thought of definitely going back in the future for more.
