Dinner at Lucia

LUCIA is on Bank Street, which is off of Main Street and about halfway downhill to the old railroad tracks in New Milford.

We ended up in New Milford, CT because we didn't have much of an itinerary, and when we asked our young wine-tasting hostess at DiGrazia Vineyards, in Brookfield, for organic dining suggestions, she pointed us toward the Green Granary, which we eventually found but learned when we got there that they were only open for breakfast and lunch. However, the woman who greeted us--she must have been the proprietress--recommended a couple of restaurants in the area, one of which was Lucia.

So, we headed back to Bank Street, hung a left, and walked up the hill and into Lucia, where we were told that there was a table available until 7:45p.m. We gladly took it. The place was virtually empty when we sat down but was soon hopping by the time we were diving into our entrees. The customer service was excellent. The dishes were delicious and filling. We had the eggplant tiara and the crab cake special for appetizers. For entrees, we had the black linguine and the sole special. The wife had white wine with her meal, while I paired mine with a nice cold glass of water. :-)

As for the Green Granary, we're thinking of stopping by there for Sunday brunch before heading back to NYC.
